The farm

The kitchen garden and orchards of the estates

The estates of the Groupe Moulin de la Forge cultivate a permaculture kitchen garden and orchards of heritage varieties, which supply the kitchens of the three houses. The local flora progresses every year, and more than eighty animal species have been recorded, including forty-two rare or protected ones.

The kitchen garden is not decorative. It is based on permaculture, it produces, and what it produces arrives on the plates the very same day. The orchards preserve old varieties of apples, which are used to make the estate’s ciders and juices.

All around, water structures the spaces, the ponds reflect the sky and the hedges provide shelter. Composting closes the loop. This is what makes a biodiversity workshop credible here: there is nothing to stage.
